Portuguese Ministry

Christ is Life Presbyterian Church was chartered June 12, 2005 after many years of support from the General Assembly, the Synod of the Northeast, and the Presbytery. This church has been established as a worshiping community in the Reformed tradition among the Portuguese-speaking residents in the Fall River, Massachusetts area. The Presbytery of Sao Paulo of the Independent Presbyterian Church of Brazil graced us by sending Rev. Claudio Carvalhaes and his wife Esther to begin this work. They spent four years in Fall River and left God's work in the capable hands of Rev. Gerson de Mendonca Annunciacao and his wife, Sandra, and their two now college-aged children.

The Annunciacao's arrived in the summer of 2001 from Brazil and continued moving this ministry forward until it became a chartered church within the bounds of the Presbytery of Southern New England. This church's vibrant youth (and adults) occasionally honors us at Presbytery meetings with dance and music.

Worship takes place at  228 North Main Street,  Fall River, MA 02720 across from the YMCA. Contact Rev. Gerson at 508/673-4780 or email him at rev.gerson@verizon.net for worship times.
