Career Evaluation
Before an Inquirer meets with the CPM for
the purpose of requesting enrollment as a Candidate, the Inquirer must
complete the two day Candidate Evaluation Program as offered by the
Center
for Career Development and Ministry at Dedham MA, another Ministry
Development Council member center, or another center by approved arrangement
with this CPM..
This program assesses psychological suitability
to the ministry of Word and Sacrament. Read
more about what is involved here.
-
Inquirers are strongly encouraged
to schedule their evaluations as early as possible in the inquiry phase
as this will maximize the benefit and may provide timely insight into issues
requiring special attention.
-
The Inquirer is responsible for scheduling
the evaluation. Note that more than two months lead time is generally needed.
This is especially true for evaluations during academic vacations.
-
A significant amount of preparation is required
prior to the evaluation at the center.
-
It is recommended that the costs of
the evaluation be shared equally between this Presbytery,
the Synod of the Northeast, the Inquirer's Session of care, and the Inquirer.
The Inquirer is, however, responsible for the financial arrangements. When
CPM is advised of the date of the evaluation, it will authorize direct
payment of the Synod and Presbytery portions.
-
The evaluation report shall
be released by the Inquirer to the Chairperson of the CPM. The Chairperson
will treat the information confidentially, sharing the report in whole
or in part with the rest of the CPM and filing the report in the Candidate's
permanent folder.
